The Jegrelius Institute for Applied Green Chemistry was founded in 2006. We are commissioned by Regional Council of Jämtland  in order to promote regional business development.

The Jegrelius Institute shall, through its activities:

• Stimulate environmentally-driven business developmentGather knowledge in order to accelerate the substitution of hazardous substances in products
• Be an internal centre of expertise for innovation-driven procurement
• Contribute to improvements in public health and the environment
• Reinforce the region's environmental profile

This means that we provide companies and public authorities with support relating to chemical issues, run projects in partnership with both regional and national stakeholders, and support local authorities in innovation procurements, i.e. procurements of new non-toxic products that are not yet on the market.

Our employees are project managers or project experts. They carry out investigations and provide advice, as well as participate in networks and spread experience and good examples.
