National Substitution Group for Non-toxic Healthcare
Jegrelius strives to reduce the exposure to and spread of hazardous chemicals from products. However, we also want to have a national presence and influence which products are used within healthcare services. Jegrelius does this by representing Regional County Council of Jämtland in the National Substitution Group for Non-toxic Healthcare.
The Group for Sustainable Procurement
Jegrelius cooperate with Jämtland County Council through a working group that we call the Group for Sustainable Procurement. This is a working group that deals with environmental issues, particularly those associated with procurement. The group has members from a range of areas within the county council, all with a common interest and expertise in environmental issues. This allows us the opportunity to help each other in an effective manner when working with important questions.
Phasing out PVC
Phasing out PVC in general, and particularly PVC that is softened with phthalates, is a very important focus area for Jegrelius. Over 2008-2009, we have worked hard on this, by mapping out their use within Jämtland County Council, informing staff and decision-makers through seminars and with information material. We have also carried out follow-up studies to track changes in pattern of use.
